Why Coastal Condo Owners Skip the Full Gut

Same-footprint condo swap compared with a traditional condo gut remodel
ConsiderationThe Haus Same-Footprint Condo SwapTraditional Condo Gut Remodel
Plumbing & concrete slabKeep the sink and drain in place; no slab cutting in the same-footprint plan.Moving plumbing may require concrete drilling and engineering or board approval.
HOA & permittingA defined cabinet-swap scope for your association's renovation packet.A wider structural or layout scope can mean extended architectural review.
Building & elevator logisticsFlat-pack, elevator-ready cartons; confirm dimensions and reserved trips.Demolition debris, dust protection, waste removal and more elevator coordination.
Coastal durabilityAsk about plywood boxes and soft-close hardware for the selected style.Leaving old particleboard or thermofoil in place can retain existing moisture damage.
Rental / snowbird downtimeAim for a shorter window between stays once stock and scheduling are confirmed.A full gut can keep a unit offline for months; scope and approvals determine timing.

Keeping the footprint can reduce scope, but neither approvals nor a days-only turnaround is promised. Chris confirms construction, stock, access and a project-specific schedule.

Best Cabinet Styles for Coastal Condos & Narrow Galleys

European frameless cabinets remove the face frame for full-access storage in tight galleys; the usable-space gain depends on the exact cabinet, not a universal percentage. White, warm-white and natural wood finishes can brighten a low-ceiling beach kitchen.

Condo Kitchen Swap FAQs

Can I replace cabinets without moving the condo plumbing?

A same-footprint plan aims to keep the sink, drain, range and appliance openings where they are. Chris checks your measurements and connections before an order; plumbing, electrical or structural changes are quoted separately.

Does a cabinet-only swap need HOA approval or a permit?

Your association and local building department decide. Ask for the current renovation packet, insurance requirements, permitted work hours and permit guidance before scheduling. Keeping the layout does not guarantee an approval or permit exemption.

Will ready-to-assemble cabinets fit a service elevator?

Flat-pack cartons can simplify delivery, but carton sizes, elevator dimensions, loading access and reservation rules must be checked first. Chris confirms the delivery plan and cost; a single trip is not guaranteed.

How fast can a condo kitchen swap be completed?

An unchanged footprint can reduce disruption compared with a full gut remodel. Stock availability, countertop work, assembly, installer scheduling and HOA access determine the timeline. Chris confirms a written schedule before you plan guest bookings.

Are these cabinets suitable for salt-air humidity?

Discuss box construction, door finish and hardware for the exact style with Chris. Control indoor humidity, wipe away moisture and repair leaks promptly; coastal-ready does not mean waterproof or salt-proof.

Can HausScan replace an on-site measurement?

No. Rough AI estimate from photos. Chris confirms every measurement with a free on-site measure before any order.

Can I get cabinets only, installation or a full condo refresh?

Yes. Save your cabinet schedule in My Kitchen, then send a Build/Remodel Quote or call Chris. Cabinets-only prices are shown in the shop; delivery, assembly, installation and any wider remodel work are quoted separately. No online card payment is collected.
